Coach Xavier Arrey

Coach Xavier Arrey

Coach Xavier is the son of Richard Arrey and has been a member of the gym since the start of the gym. Coach Xavier has taken ownership of the academy from Coach Richard and looks forward to continuing the legacy his father has built.

Coach Xavier is a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a Black Belt in Pankration. Coach Xavier contributes his success in life to the gym and the practices put in place by Richard Arrey. Coach Xavier was the first “Jr. Coach” for the gym as he was instructor at the age of 14 years old. As competitor, Xavier Arrey has competed in and won notable bjj tournaments in his youth such as Grapplers Quest Championships, Best of the West Championships, North American Grappling Association (NAGA) Championships, United States Fight League (USFL) Pankration Championships, and many mixed martial arts bouts. Coach Xavier assisted in legalizing Pankration in the State of California, as well as assisted in writing the rules to legalize amateur Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in the State of California. Coach Xavier competed professionally in MMA at the age of 16. Coach Xavier competed as a professional Mixed Martial Artist in his teenage years prior to leaving to the US Army.

Coach Xavier served in the United States Army and works as a Police Officer for the City of Riverside, Ca. Coach Xavier is a law enforcement officer for the Riverside Police Department (RPD). In the short 9 years of being a police officer, Coach Xavier is a Defensive Tactics instructor, a Master Taser Instructor, a SWAT team member and Team Leader, and teaches several other courses for the department. Coach Xavier attributes this credit to his father, and the program built at Riverside Submission / Arrey Jiu-Jitsu.
